How Public Comments Are Being Used

Public scoping comments and information are used to help in defining the scope of the Draft PEIS and identifying the preferred alternative(s).

The public comment period is one of several major public involvement opportunities for the Uranium Leasing Program PEIS. Public comments are being taken into consideration in preparing the Draft PEIS and identifying the preferred alternative(s).

Comment Consideration

Written and oral comments will be given equal weight, and DOE is considering all comments received or postmarked by September 9, 2011 in preparing the Draft PEIS and identifying the preferred alternative(s). Comments received or postmarked after that date will be considered to the extent practicable.
