ULP PEIS Public Scoping Meeting Transcripts Available
The transcripts for the public scoping meetings on the NOI for the Draft ULP PEIS are now available for download from the Public Scoping Meetings page. The transcripts contain the DOE overview presentation and oral comments given by the public at the public scoping meetings.

ULP PEIS Public Scoping Comment Period Closed
The public scoping comment period for the Uranium Leasing Program Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (ULP PEIS) is now closed. Public comments on the scope for the ULP PEIS were accepted from June 21, 2011 through September 9, 2011.

ULP PEIS Public Scoping Meetings Start Next Week
The U.S. Department of Energy, Office of Legacy Management, will hold public scoping meetings to invite public comments on the scope of the Uranium Leasing Program Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement in the four cities and dates indicated below. All meetings will be held from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm.
- Montrose, CO – August 8, 2011
- Telluride, CO – August 9, 2011
- Naturita, CO – August 10, 2011
- Monticello, UT – August 11, 2011
The public is encouraged to participate in the scoping meetings. Registration to speak at the meetings is currently open through the Public Meetings page. Registration through this website will close 24 hours prior to each meeting. Participants may also register to speak at the public meetings. Speakers will be recognized in order as registered.

Supplement to the Notice of Intent Issued
A Supplement to the NOI has been issued. This supplement announces public scoping meeting dates, times, and locations and also extends the public scoping period to September 9, 2011. The public scoping period started on June 21, 2011 when the NOI was issued and was to close by August 22, 2011.

Uranium Leasing Program Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement Information Center Web Site Launched
The Uranium Leasing Program Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement Information Center Web site was launched on July 21, 2011. This Web site is the online center for public information and involvement in the Uranium Leasing Program Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (ULP PEIS).
The United States Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Legacy Management (LM), will prepare a Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement (PEIS) for the Uranium Leasing Program (ULP). The PEIS will evaluate potential alternatives involving leases for the ULP.
